About Bob Stoss

I’m a design leader and strategist with over 20 years of experience spanning firmware interfaces, enterprise software, and subscription product design. My career has taken me from software development and test automation, through firmware project management and printer UI design, into ecosystem thinking and design leadership — work that now touches millions of HP customers every month.

I’m currently Senior Design Manager for HP Instant Services, where I lead the design team for HP’s ink, toner, and paper subscription programs. My team owns the full subscriber experience — from enrollment and onboarding through account management, billing, and retention — across web, mobile, and printer touchpoints.

Before HP, I spent nearly a decade at Lexmark International, where I started as a Senior Interaction Designer and Firmware Project Engineer — serving as product owner for printer requirements and designing control panel UIs — before growing into UX Design Team Lead, managing a team across both firmware and software UI projects. Prior to that, I worked in software development and test automation at Analysts International, building tooling for QA — an engineering foundation I still draw on today.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University. I’m also an inventor on two US patents, filed during my time at Lexmark.
